IOBAS ((Inter Operator Billing and Accounting System)IOBAS is an ASP model based Interconnect Billing and Accounting System to operate and support the integrated application for collecting and processing CDRs(Call Detail Records) and generate Bills on a monthly basis for 16 Telecom circles in Eastern and Southern India.
We consider a Point of Interconnect (POI), as our reference for all the rating activities that executes in our system. A CDR, which comes to our system, is generated at the switch of POI. POI in technical terms is a physical connectivity (group of electronic circuits, at BSNL exchanges) between the OLO (Other Licensed Operator, such as Reliance) with BSNL, where they pump-in or pump-out subscriber traffic to be terminated in each others network.
A CDR to our system is just a stream of data. It has to go through several processes so that it is made appropriate for rating.
Following are the steps in a nutshell:
Binary to ASCII conversion -> Filtering the Interconnect CDRs from the file->
Removing the duplicate CDRs from the file level -> Normalization process is initiated to extract the required specific fields for rating -> Rating process is started with the normalized CDRs and finally the CDRs is stored in the traffic table for invoicing

- Locking of Revenue Leakages in various phases to ensure Revenue for customer.
- Requirements gathering and new Logic execution out.
- Held post-launch review meetings to revisit project strengths and liabilities, and to build out better processes for future projects. Team building and wrap-up continued up to this point.
- Creating Test Plans required for requirement add-ons.
- Implementation of Business logic, Call handling scenarios, Mediation and Rating of CDR's.
- Generation of Invoices using Open Bill package.
- Reconciliation Module & Portal development and maintenance.
- Customer Communication and Solution Designing.
- Analyzing the client requirement and designing System.
- Sketching code in required areas for developing new requirements.
- Dispute Solving in the CDR management branched under OLO-Reconciliation.
- Handling of Revenue Assurance in Mediation. Rating and Invoicing.
- Maintaining Portal interface between customer and ASP (Application service provider).
- Unit & System Test Case and Plan preparation
- Worked in Mediation, Configuration and Integration Testing suites under Provisioning, CRM and Billing.
- Testing of the end CDRs in various phases like Conversion, Filtration, and Duplicate Removal to key in rating engine.
- Hands on experience with CDRs of Various switch technologies (OCB, AXE, EWSD).
- Coursed out in System Testing, Integration Testing in various areas for providing End to End services to customer.
- Worked with Xalted, Intec(Singl.eView).
- Coordinate with clients on Installing and upgrading switch software and validating the Input & Output Call. Detail Records (CDRs) after any activities performed at field units.
